findcomix ("findcomix.com," "we," "us," or "our") operates an online marketplace for browsing, pricing, buying, and selling comic books. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including our SMS text messaging program, described in detail below.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and profile photo (if you sign in with Google), or a username, email address, and password (if you create an account directly). You also choose a public username, used to identify you as a buyer or seller.
• Contact methods: any social media handles or contact email you choose to add to your seller profile, shown to signed-in members viewing your listings.
• Phone number: collected only if you choose to complete phone verification, described in Section 4.
• Comic listing information: titles, issue numbers, grades, descriptions, prices, and photos you upload or that our AI extracts from photos you provide.
• Purchase/cost records: what you privately record paying for a comic, visible only to you.
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. If listing a comic $500 or over, Stripe also facilitates identity verification (government ID and a live photo check) on our behalf.
• Standard technical information: IP address and basic request logs, collected automatically by our hosting and security providers as part of operating the site.

2. How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account and display your public seller profile.
• To let AI read comic cover photos you upload and automatically catalog them in your library (photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for this purpose).
• To process membership billing and, when applicable, seller identity verification, through Stripe.
• To verify a phone number you provide, when you choose to, through Twilio.
• To send transactional emails — for example, notifying a buyer that a purchase was marked complete and inviting a review — through Resend.
• To display seller reputation (ratings, reviews, sale counts, and badges) to other members.
• To operate, secure, and improve the site.

3. Who We Share Information With

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the service, with these service providers, each bound to use it only to provide their service to us:

• Google — sign-in.
• Stripe — payment processing and, for higher-value listings, identity verification.
• Twilio — SMS phone verification.
• Anthropic — AI-based comic cataloging from photos, and fair-market-value price research.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Cloudflare and Fly.io — hosting, content delivery, and infrastructure security.

Other members who are active subscribers can see your username, seller reputation, listings, and the contact methods you've chosen to share. Buyers and sellers are never shown each other's private account email or phone number directly.

4. SMS Text Messaging Consent

findcomix offers phone verification as one way for a seller to confirm they're a real person before listing lower-priced comics for sale. This program is entirely optional and is opt-in only.

How you opt in: you opt in by voluntarily entering your phone number in the Seller Verification section of your Profile page and clicking "Send code." No phone number is collected or texted unless you take this specific action yourself.

What you'll receive: by opting in, you consent to receive one SMS text message containing a one-time verification code, sent by findcomix via Twilio, to the number you provided.

Message frequency: you'll receive a text message only when you (or someone signed into your account) initiates phone verification. findcomix does not send recurring, marketing, or promotional text messages, and does not send any further texts once your number is verified.

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Consent is not a condition of purchase or membership. Phone verification is only required if you'd like to list a comic for sale priced under $500; you may instead complete identity verification through Stripe, which satisfies the requirement at every price point without providing a phone number.

No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is used solely to send you the verification code and to confirm your identity as a seller on findcomix.

Opting out: since this program consists of a single verification code sent only when you request it, there's nothing to unsubscribe from — simply don't initiate phone verification again. If you've already verified and want your phone number removed from your account, contact us at the email above.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and listing information for as long as your account is active. If you delete a listing, it's removed immediately. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted entirely, contact us and we'll process the request.

6. Your Choices

• You can browse and price-check listings on findcomix without creating an account.
• You can edit or remove your contact methods, username, and listing details at any time from your account page.
• You can decline to provide a phone number — phone verification is one of two options for listing lower-priced comics, and is never required to browse, buy, or use the rest of the site.
• You can cancel your membership at any time through the billing portal on your account page.
